I just wanted to relate my psoriasis story.
I got psoriasis only after starting Humira for Crohn's (I know that ironically it can help existing psoriasis)
I was on Humira for a year and the psoriasis was bad on my scalp,
and I also had mild psoriasis on my back and face, and severe crusting
and plaques in the ears.I went to the dermo and he prescribed some
topical steroids, and a bunch of useless creams. When I stopped the
humira, I hoped the psoriasis would go away slowly. From research
online, I see that most folks with drug induced psoriasis continue to
have it after the drug is stopped. wonderful.
I started taking pharmaceutical grade omega 3's with vitamin D as I
heard they could control inflammation levels and help my CD and
psoriasis. WHile I have ot noticed a diffeence in my CD, my psoriasis is
COMPLETELY gone!!! I don't know if I'm just a freak of nature or what
but I really wanted to come on and tell you guys because if can help
someone else thatg would be great. And it's worth a shot, for very
little money.
I take about 5g of omega 3's daily (4 caps , 2
twice daily with meals) They also contain a total of 1000iu's of Vitamin
D3. Now I hear both of these are beneficail for psoriasis and I have no
clue which one helped put me in remission .. but I say give it a go!
Worth a shot. Make sure you take a therapeutic dose (about 5g daily) and that you give it time, mine took about a month to resolve completely but mine was also not severe.
